3 of 6 Ways to Make Money at Home Quickly

I’ve had the pleasure of being a work at home for the last eight years. As both a service professional (web designer) and information entrepreneur (I teach digital marketing and sales), I personally believe the fasted legitimate way to make money online is by selling your services to people who need it and information to people who want to buy it. But as they say, there is more than one way to skin a cat. I recently came across an interesting article by the Work At Home Woman on ‘6 Top Ways to Make Money from Home Quickly’. Three of these strategies include getting paid for things that you are already doing, selling used items and/or selling your services online.

I can personally vouch for a few of the items on her list. For example, you can definitely get paid for some of your online activities. As someone who shops online all the time, I love the eBates Rebates Program. It’s free to join and you essentially get essentially get cash back on average between 2%-10% for the items you purchase at your favorite online stores through eBates. An added benefit to joining is their affiliate program; you can receive $25 for each person who signs up through you. Before I shop on Amazon, eBay, Walmart, Orbitz and I ton of other websites, I always first log into my eBates account to ensure my purchases are tracked. Between the cash back perks and affiliate program I get ebates checks in the mail regularly, so I know this one definitely works for those looking to bring in extra money or get back some of the money that you spend.

Selling my web design services and information products are among my best income generators. If you have an in demand skill and are looking to earn money online, I highly recommend online marketplaces that connect freelancers and service professionals to people in need of their help. One of those sites that I often recommend that is also featured in this article is Fiverr, an online marketplace where you can sell your services for $5 and up. This is one of several websites that I often recommend to entrepreneurs looking new gigs and clients or low budget resources to build their own businesses on a budget.

I have a nine year old son with boxes of old close that I desperately need to get rid of. In between spring cleaning trips to salvation army I toyed with the idea of opening an eBay store, but never got around to it. At some point I discovered ThredUp, which is an interesting alternative to eBay, so I signed up and am hoping to get started with this one soon. thredUP is a way you can sell your old clothing, shoes, and handbags.

Beyond boxes of old clothes, I personally have my share of electronic gadgets that need to go. One website on this list that I found particularly interesting was Decluttr; an online platform where you can sell CDs, DVDs, and video games. These days I listen to most of my music via Pandora and practically watch everything online via Netflix, Hulu and Vudu, so I am long over do for a serious CD / DVD clean up session. Now that I know that I can get paid for getting rid of these things, I am ready to let the digital decluttering process begin.

Beyond knowing that it pays to sell my own products and services, I can personally say that I’ve signed up to a few of these websites and it is possible to make money from them. At the end of the day you just have to try them to find out what works for you and set realistic expectations. Some of these are simply good of you want to make a little extra on the side, while others can be real revenue generators for you if you learn how to use them the right way.
