For a long time I was very hesitant to do anything online beyond creating content and marketing that content online. Believe it or not, I am more of a typer than a talker so I virtually had little to no contact with other entrepreneurs and my web presence suffered greatly because of that. Your business simply will not be as visible as you want it to be if you do not take the time to socialize, network, and/or collaborate with like-minded experts in your field. From initiating casual conversations on social networks, to commenting on people’s blogs, or directly emailing entrepreneurs of interest, these are the ways in which you can invite other web viewers into your world. By doing so, you will find a host of new marketing opportunities and resources presented to you that you never imagined were possible. Whether you opt to go to local events offline or opt to participate in groups online, you can increase your online presence by increasing the size of your business network.
Some of the advantages of doing so are creating business alliances, getting backed or promoted by an expert in your field, learning new business strategies, or expanding your areas of expertise by interacting with others.
