On the Path to Achieving Success: Give Yourself the Gift of One Year

There are four steps to achievement: Plan purposefully. Prepare prayerfully. Proceed positively. Pursue persistently.

Start with a plan and pursue it persistently. Your ability to achieve success depends upon how well you can master your craft. The only way you can fail as an entrepreneur is if you quit, which means your sole focus right now should be to either figure out what you were meant to do with your life or start doing that thing better.

Think about it. Think about how many “here today, gone tomorrow” business stories you know. I personally know a ton of them that happened this year alone. Bye bye, local Radio Shack. So long Blab live stream. Whether their struggle revolved around finances, sales, branding or marketing, the end result is always the same. At some point, their fire fizzled and they gave up instead of mastering their craft.

I don’t want their stories to be your story. Sixteen years strong I am still here with a thriving online business. And I know that’s the kind of story you want for yourself. On the topic of stories, have you heard any of these before? At one point Disney was in debt, Lego almost had to close their doors and Oprah’s Own Network was struggling to stay above water in the beginning, but look at all of them now. Practically every “barely surviving to big-time thriving” business success story is built on mastering the art of perfecting ones craft.

If you aren’t quite where you want to be, I encourage you to give yourself the gift of one year to master your craft, stick with your vision and do everything humanly possible to phase in your greatness. Give yourself at least one thousand hours over the course of three hundred and sixty-five days to get to a place of personal achievement that feels right and works well for you.

On the flip side of entrepreneurship, let’s take a look at the 9-to-5 world. I don’t have to tell you that brick and mortar businesses are closing every day. I’m sure you know more than a few people who are out of work because blue collar jobs are being wiped out every month. The sad truth is that big businesses are finding new ways to fire more people while they hire fewer people, which has left many people struggling to find ways to make ends meet. I share these harsh realities as a wake-up call for every person who doesn’t want to be left behind. Take these words to heart, at the end of the day, you can get fired from a job, but you can never get fired from your gifts. When you find your gifts and learn how to master your craft, you can never be out of work.

Whether you are trying to startup, jump start or restart your vision, hopefully, you now understand the importance of giving yourself time to achieve success and create change in your life. I encourage you to keep going, maintain your momentum, monetize your magic and master your crafts now.
