The Key to Making It Online

I’m burning the midnight oil working on web projects tonight, but I just had to take a moment to share a powerful lesson learned with you.

Power Circle Speaker Deborah Owens truly said it best, “Wealthy women act, think and do things differently.”

The key to making it online is to BE AMAZING.
Seriously you have to be amazing. As I wrapped up updates for one of my clients Sumiyyah Rasheed creator of Ann Nahari plus size clothing for women I thought, “Her collection looks so beautiful! I hope the site does it justice!”

Last night as I trolled my Facebook feed to discover two of my SistaSense Circle experts with magazine features – Jai Stone in Essence Magazine and Richelle Shaw on the cover of Business 101 Magazine … I thought, “Man these ladies are blowing up something powerful and taking us all along for the ride!”

And last week as I like many entrepreneurs on the #grind tried to clean up my email inbox on Labor Day no less, I was pleasantly surprised to get some of the BEST customer service help from Madmimi Email services. I had a few questions about segmenting my email list, but I knew their chat would be down given the holiday weekend. Imagine my surprise when Mira from Madmimi followed up on my questions minutes after I sent an email and then proceeded to send me follow up help for the next hour! She saved me so much time trying to figure the stuff out on my own, I wanted to send her a BIG virtual hug.

Seriously I was so happy with their service I told her I definitely had to blog about it, because if you ever spent hours on the line trying to get ‘Company X’ to help you or send you back an email, then you KNOW its hard to find good customer service around these parts.

I say all this to say the KEY to making it online is to Wow them like Summiyah, Keep it Authentic like Jai and Richelle and keep it professional like Madmimi. Don’t just blog because you heard blogging will bring in money. Don’t just put up a website because you think it’s the thing to do. And don’t (please don’t) ask me how you can get into any online business, because you need to pay your bills. You have to love this stuff. You have to go above and beyond what everybody else is doing if you truly want to stand out.

As I write these words to you at 10:21pm I’m rocking out to Lauryn Hill, getting ready to work on my 3rd client site for the evening energized by the knowledge that the more I wow my circle the more my circle grows!

Tonight I challenge you to ask yourself one question, “What can I do to step up my game?” That answer just might be the key to helping you make it online.
