The image above is a quick screen shot of the photo gallery on my social network, Black Business Women Online. While updating the featured photos today I noticed that BIG red ring in the picture. I clicked on it and thought it was absolutely beautiful. It was actually created by fellow webpreneur – the WireQueen! The next thing I did was look for a link to find out the price! Sure enough Michelle (aka the wirequeen) followed my advice and didn’t make that BIG online marketing mistake I talk about – posting photos without links.
She made sure to add the purchase page link in her description box, so I quickly clicked away! I loved the price, the free shipping, and the fact I could quickly pay with paypal so I bought it! For a minute or two I honestly hesitated on buying because I just went shopping yesterday and I try to avoid impulse buys BUT you know what … more than my love of BIG RINGS I love buying from a fellow woman entrepreneur. There is nothing like that wonderful “You’ve Got Cash” email from paypal. I love sending that email to another NOT out of pity or request BUT out of quality business, finding a great product, respect, and support. We are in business ladies and gents that’s why I always tell folks, don’t say please JUST please. And the wirequeen definitely created a jewelry collection that is pleasing to my eye!
Funny enough, as soon as I bought my new ring from the wirequeen I saw a paypal payment enter my inbox from another sista who decided to join my Black Business Women Online network. I thought to myself, so much for worrying about my impulse buy (lol). Seriously though… I wanted to write this so I can show you how fast social networking works. If Michelle didn’t regularly network on BBWO and post her product photos she would have missed out on a new customer. Moreover, while I’m not at Oprah status (yet) I can afford to take advantage of buying a great product from another black woman in business because when I pay it forward and then another sister buys from me we ARE all taking part in recycling black dollars back into our community, which is what this REALLY needs to be about.
